9 Week Update

Sorry it's been a bit since I've updated. I've been busy with work and keeping up around the house... not much time to just sit and think and write. And I just got off after working 50 hours and I don't have a day off for 5 more days... so I'm a little grumpy now... but I'll try and let you know what's new....

My boobs are bigger... lol... that's probably the most significant change. And my little pooch is growing too. As a matter of fact, I couldn't button my work pants today so I had to belly-band it and wear my shirt un-tucked to work. That was a first. My work family is pretty awesome and they all know me so well so I got a lot of grief for it, all in good fun though.

I've nick-named my fetus, Cletus. HAHAHAHAHHA So "his" name is "Cletus the Fetus" for now. Caleb hates it but I find it hilarious...and I blame all my bad behavior and my hunger strikes on Cletus. Who wouldn't laugh?? lol

I find myself being hungry almost constantly and I've been packing a snack bag everyday. And if I wait too long to eat it becomes painful. I also have to drink a lot more water or I really start to feel crummy. And I found out that I like the taste of ginger ale... so I drink that when I don't feel real good. I still haven't been "morning sick".... but my stomach hurts or gets uncomfortable for at least a couple hours everyday. It's hard for me to be on a routine with food, water, and sleep so that's probably why.

My cat is being weird. I've heard they do that. He's either incredibly clingy to me...or just plain mean. He has a very intense personality anyway...but lately it's become really interesting.

Caleb started his new job with T Mobile and quit Buffalo Wild Wings. He really likes the new job and it seems like it will be a great thing. I'm just jealous of him right now because he has more time off than I do... and I'm the one cooking the baby! lol But that should level out once my work settles down in a month or so.

Our financial situation sucks... but thanks to some really awesome people in our lives, we're gonna be ok... and hopefully be able to get ahead. Our support system is awesome... both families and all of our friends have our backs. And I'm really not sure what I would do without them!

I'm sure everyone close to me would tell you that I'm quite a bit "crabbier"..... I don't think it would be as bad if I felt better. Or if I rested more. Or if I could just make it to my second trimester, where everyone promises me everything will be better. I'm trying!

I'd post a pic but... my camera broke and the one on my phone takes blurry pics...and Caleb is out with his friend so you'll just have to wait! But I promise to get one on here tonight.

Friends have started giving me things...and I'm accepting ALL donations! Jess gave me an array of different bottles to try. And a friend at work gave me a trunk full of baby gear. A case of diapers, a johnny jumper, a little floor blanket toy thing, one of those little vibrating chair things, a sling, and a few other cool things. We've just been tossing it all in the "baby's room" for now. I'm not quite ready to start going through anything. And Kimmie bought "her" a little onsie that says "My aunt is AWESOME" and some huge infant hair bows. She's SURE it's gonna be a girl. And we've discussed it... we really don't care what it is honestly. There are pros and cons of both... and we're preparing ourselves more and more everyday.

That's it for the update. I'll post a pic asap!

7 or 8 Weeks?

I had a doctor's appt yesterday. And due to wonderful TennCare, I didn't even get to meet the doctor. Just the nurses. It was just a preliminary appt, to confirm my pregnancy and get my paperwork started. So I peed in the cup and learned a few things about what my doctor allows. His name is Dr. Boerner. He's older...been practicing for at least 27 years. So he's old school. And for whatever reason they changed my due date to March 17th. Apparently the nurses at the Health Dept and the nurses at my doc office don't agree with how long 40 weeks from May 31st is.So I could be 7 weeks or 8 weeks??  Or however that works. I figure once I get my one ultrasound (only one is covered through TennCare) I will know for sure how far along I am and what the exact arrival date is expected to be. I'm still shooting for March 10th... or even Feb 29th (next year is a leap year and I think it would be cool!)
My main questions were

When can I dye my hair? My roots are about 5 inches long and they look terrible! Answer: Anytime! The chemicals I put into my hair don't go into my bloodstream, therefore don't go to the baby! Thank God! As soon as my budget allows, my hair will be fixed!

What about caffeine? I have cut it completely out, but I get small headaches everyday... Answer: have a coke or a coffee whenever I like. Just try and cut back little by little as time goes on. So I had a coffee yesterday and a tea today... and I'm happy for those!

The nurse also told me that my doc allows one glass of wine or beer per week as my stress level asks for. I honestly haven't even wanted any booze... but it's nice to know that if I absolutely want something, I can have it.

So the doc appt went ok I guess. I get to hear the heartbeat Aug 22. That is, if my TennCare gets approved. I find out sometime between now and 45 days from now... keep your fingers crossed! And we will find out the sex sometime early October.

How a I doing? Ok. I get a little "morning sickness" several times throughout the day. I don't really feel sick or like I need to vomit... I just feel slow. Like my body is trying to fight off a sickness. My sinuses suck. Apparently pregnancy makes your mucus membranes swollen so I feel stuffy but there's not much I can do about it. And I'm moody....sooo moody. Just ask Caleb about that part of it. When I dont have to work, I just lay on my spot on the couch and watch Lost or some other show on tv and try to do as little as possible. I'm not really tired, just lazy. Which is unlike me normally. Sometimes it's fun...most of the time its boring. He's being a really good sport about it though. I just really hope in the next few weeks I get my energy back and get some motivation to do something...anything.

I know it's belly pic time... but u might have to wait a day or 2. Caleb's at work and I look like a hot mess so I'll do it, maybe tomorrow. He got the job at T-Mobile we were praying for. Good pay and good benefits. He starts on Monday. He's working at B-Dubs at night. Tonight's his first night out of training... Thank God because we could use a little extra income right now. I also got a raise, or I get a bonus every month if my store does well. I'm back to the management thing here. I get paid hourly plus overtime plus my bonus doing it this way. And this week I'm scheduled 50 hours so, I'll be tired, but I'll be happy for the paycheck. Once Caleb's money gets rolling, I can step back a bit and let him take over. I'm patiently waiting =)

Still like Camalie and Caden. Thinking the color purple for the room if its a girl, and maybe green if it's a boy. We started glancing at baby stuff we might like when we go to the store. We still have plenty of time to figure all of that out. My belly is big to me and Caleb. No one else can really tell yet unless I point it out... but we can tell. And my boobs... they're gonna be out of control before too long... lol

I guess that about wraps it all up. My birthday is in a couple weeks... I took off work but don't really have any plans. I just want a camera...and I'd love to have my hair done by then. But I don't really want a big to-do... however, this is my last birthday as just Cacey. Next year I'll be Cacey the mommy looking for a sitter.. haha

7 Weeks!

Not much has changed. Still no morning sickness. Still feeling lazy but working pretty hard. Not a whole lot to update you on. I suppose I should be thankful for this time... I'm not going to get very much of it in the near future! ha

Typical Stress

Work was terrible for me last night. Tuesday nights behind the bar are typically not extremely busy but I do have my hands full making lots of $2 Long Island Teas. But last night felt like a full fledged Friday night. I went in expecting to make about $40 bucks and be out by 9 and go about my way but it was so busy. I made about triple what I expected but I could not keep up. I am usually so fast and accurate and still able to keep good conversation and have fun. But last night I was 5 steps behind, back hurting, starving like I hadn't just eaten 2 hours before. And just overall unhappy. I felt like I wasn't pulling my weight with Kimmie. And we are going through a new menu and computer change so that's an added time consumer. I NEVER feel like that... I am always the best at what I do and I tend to make everyone else try to go faster to keep up. It sucked. I know, I'm pregnant... but I don't feel pregnant...so I don't feel like I should be slowing down yet. My books assure me that the first trimester is the most draining... but I just don't like feeling like I'm the best.

And then because of the fact we were supposed to be moving and Caleb hyper-extending his knee at his moving job... we're not working with our full potential of income. I'm so proud of him because he has already been hired at Buffalo Wild Wings in Smyrna and should be starting this week...along with he has his second interview with T-Mobile, which would be awesome with the pay and benefits. But for right now... we're living off of what I make...and it's tough. And stressful.

I got a call from my big boss today asking me to go back on the management schedule full time, because they do really need me...and as much as I need the cash right now, I think it was a blessing in disguise. Yes, it's longer hours on my feet but I can rest when I need to, eat when I need to, not bend over to wash dishes, not carry kegs or bus tubs, and go at my own pace. It will take about 3 weeks to get the steady pay check coming and get back on budget... and in 3 weeks Caleb will have steady money coming in too... but the next 3 weeks are gonna suck! So that stresses me.

I already feel better after writing all of this down. I prayed today... I know everything will be fine, it always is. And He will always provide what I need. I just have to be more accepting... I'm working on that.

I need to be happy and relaxed. I need an easy-going baby...lol  Its just when I get a wave of emotion, whether is happy or sad or crazy, it overcomes me now.

How about some positives? We have netflix and Caleb and I are completely addicted to Lost! It makes me very happy! Also, we are coming to Clarksville this weekend to see my family... As long as it's not 4000 degrees outside we're gonna hang at Amy's pool on Sunday. I get to see Grayson. That kinda stuff makes me happy!

6 Weeks Today

I had Caleb take about 20 photos before I finally liked one or 2. These are not very easy, or flattering to take... but there you go...

Still don't really feel pregnant. That little belly you see is more of a belly than I've ever had so I can tell a difference. My boobs are a little sore. And I feel lazier...not so much more tired, just more lazy if that makes any sense.. ha And right when I wake up in the mornings I feel the teeniest bit queezy but it goes away really quickly.

I have a WIC appt on Thursday and I'm waiting for a letter in the mail telling me when my true TennCare appt will be. I am worried I won't be accepted for either because of the money I made on that opening I just just a month ago, which in an unrealistic income for me normally... but hopefully I can convey all of that... If I don't get accepted... I will be having a home birth because there is NO way we can afford the 15 grand in hospital bills it will take... lol

I made my first Doctor appt. It's Monday July 25th at 9. I don't really know anything about the doctor...had to choose him from a list of names. I'll be 8 weeks when I go so hopefully they'll let me see the little p-nut! =)

So far we're hoping for a boy. I just think it will be easier for Caleb to have a boy first. He really doesn't have any experience with small children and having a boy to relate to will be better...I think. But we keep talking about a little girl too... so either way it goes we will be delighted... but we're pushing for a boy =)
Names so far: (sticking with the "C" theme)
boy: Caden Boyd Frazier
girl: Camalie Jane Frazier
(Camalie is a combo of Cacey, Amy, and Emily...and I have to give Emily 100 percent credit for that one...and Jane is my mother's middle name and Boyd is Caleb's grandfather's name and his middle name as well)

So that's the update.

Week One

One week ago I was recovering from my going away party. I had accepted a promotion for management for Old Chicago and Caleb and I were moving to Lexington, KY by the end of the month. I had to leave for training on Tuesday afternoon. We were excited to start an adventure and see where it took us. Had all the plans and wheels in motion.
I was about 2 days late for my period, no biggie, considering all the stress and change that was taking place. But we picked up a home test at the dollar store the night before, just as a precaution.

So, Tuesday July 5th... I wake up to pack my bags. I go to the bathroom and the little test on the counter reminds me of my plans to take it... so I do. *sidebar---I have taken approximately 20 pregnancy tests in my adult life...I freak myself out almost once a month...I am the result of that .01% that the pill might not work...so this is almost routine to take these at home tests* So I pee on the stick (pardon my boldness) and before I can even pull my pants up there are very plainly 2 solid lines! So I dig in the trash and pull the box out... and sure enough, 2 lines means I'm pregnant. Deep breaths.

I go to Caleb, who is still very soundly sleeping and try and wake him... which is not ever very easy. So I start to become impatient until he finally asks me what the big deal is...and why he needs to get up now? I just looked at him and said "BECAUSE I'M PREGNANT!".................................. He said.... "Oh...." lol
So we come to the living room and sit on opposite sides of the couch and just kind of look off into the blank tv for a while. And he keeps saying "I love you, I just don't know what to say... " over and over. We are both equally as surprised, shocked, scared, excited, nervous, nauseous, and every other word you can think to describe "that" feeling.

Our very first order of business was that I had to decide immediately whether I was leaving for training as scheduled or if we needed to change that decision... but we had to make it quickly. After a trip to Kimmie's where I cried on her couch and a phone call to my sister Amy, who has had a very demanding career while having children, and a phone call to Jessica...where she could hear sadness in my voice, to Brittney who didnt even get a chance to say congratulations because I had to cut her off, one to Emily who was on vacation in the mountains and had no service....and I had to wait ALL DAY to call my mother after she got off work.... so after ALL of that... we decided that picking up and moving away from our support systems, taking on a very demanding new job, and being pregnant was just not an option for us. So I called my boss... who told me "shit happens"... and then..... Finally... once we made that huge decision, and we didn't have to factor in moving... Caleb and I looked at each other and we smiled..and laughed...and cried... and said... "we're going to be parents".....

The more hours that went by the more excited we became. We made the phone calls to our parents (which we both honestly halfway dreaded for fear of judgement) and all of those conversations were wonderful. Caleb's mom asked him why he was upset...and told him that he better get excited cuz she was and this was a blessing. My mom was driving down the road and had to pull over due to her excitement! My Dad was convinced he is too young to be a grandpa and had to literally sit down and take a reaming from my mother before he realized reality... All of our close friends were excited and supportive..but all wanted to make sure we were excited first... and it took us a day or 5.... lol... but we are!

The next day I went to the doctor, to make it "official"... I will be six weeks tomorrow. My due date is March 10th... and I hope it sticks because it will be a wonderful blessing to have my child and my mother have the same birthday! All we talk about with each other, and with everyone else is the baby... our heads are spinning with all of the things we have to accomplish in 9 months. Jobs, childcare, cleanliness, clothes, money, doctors, insurance, rest, reading.... you name it... we're thinking about it.

The only thing I know FOR SURE right now is... Caleb loves me with everything he has and I love him just as much. He's going to be a wonderful father and I am very happy about that choice. Sure we would have loved to have been married and financially set before we brought a new life into the picture... but while we were busy making plans... God showed us his own plan. And I honestly couldn't imagine this week being any different than it has been! =)
